The following text was written by the talented Kristi (a friend of ours who goes to our church), in an amazing scrapbook that she gave us of the special day. . . .
April 22, 2005: The day started out in the most beautiful way, with the adoption hearing at 8:35 a.m. at Boone County Court House. Taina (mom) took the stand, and had a hard time hiding her joy as she answered the questions posed by the lawyers. Then Bryndyn (dad) took the stand and quickly affirmed everything that had already been asked. The judge officially changed your name to Caelleb Crutcher, and with a tap of his gavel, created a family forever.
At 5 p.m. your parents, grandparents, friends and family gathered at the Fairview Road Church of Christ for an adoption celebration. Over dinner, each person was invited to write down a prayer for you on your special day. The rest of the evening was spent on congratulations and picture taking (which you were probably tired of, but you made it through like a trooper!). What a perfect end to a wonderful day.
