Me: "So Caelleb, instead of packing carrots in your lunch today I thought maybe some celery with peanut butter."

Caelleb: "No thanks, mommy, just carrots"

Me: "Are you sure? I could make one right now so you can try it and see if you like it?"

Caelleb: "Naaaa. I'm not a big fan of celery."

Table Talk

Gotta love dinnertime conversation...

Tia: "How do you spell my name daddy?"
Caelleb: "I know how to spell your name"
Tia: "You do not know how to spell my name."
Caelleb: "Oh yea? T. I. A. How you like me now?"

Tia: "Kobe, eat those strawberries. They are good for you. They are healthy!"
Kobe (he can't' talk being that he's only just turned one): "Ahhhh, naaaa naaaaa"
Tia: "Kobe, don't talk to me that way!"

Leave It To Boys

What should have been a simple conversation about the weather... gone awry...

BRYN: "It is so cold tonight that if it rained, it would be snow."
CAELLEB: "You can’t eat yellow snow daddy."
BRYN: "Oh really... why not?"
CAELLEB: "Because it's pee."
BRYN: "Who told you that?"
CAELLEB: "Ummm, YOU, long time ago."

PAUSE

CAELLEB: "What is black snow?"
BRYN: "I've never seen black snow."

PAUSE

CAELLEB: "I think it's poop."

Gone. But not forgotten.

It's been a little over 3 months since our summer vacation in Oregon. Tonight I had the following conversation with Tia...

Tia: "Mommy, where'd the ocean go?"
Me: "The ocean is far away from here."
Tia: "Is the ocean hiding from us?"
Me: "No sweetie, the ocean is just really far from Missouri."
Tia: "Is he sleepin'?"
Me: "Ummm, I'm not sure the ocean ever sleeps"
Tia: "He still making waves?"
Me: "Most definitely!"

We had such a wonderful, relaxing time on our vacation (maybe i'll actually get some belated vacation pics up?)! Just wanted to remember the above conversation. I do believe that we are instilling in our children the love we have for the COAST!
