The Word On The Street

The "word on the street" for today's tivo'd episode of Sesame Street: Frustrated. As someone w/a background & education in counseling I appreciate this effort on Sesame Street's part, helping kids understand and be able to name their emotions. Caelleb & Tia watched intently as a little girl described the feeling of being frustrated. From the looks on their faces it seemed that they understood the word & the emotion behind it. Just to make sure, I asked each of them the following question: Have you ever felt frustrated? Their responses were comical. Oh yes, they definitely got it!

Caelleb's response: "Oh yea. Today at naptime I was frustrated. You were frustrating me!" (because I made him lay down for a nap)

Tia's response: "My udder mommy frustrates me. She tells me to stand in the corner." (her time out spot)
