For the record, yes I am still writing about our summer vacation. No apologies. I'll try to wrap it up in the next few days. . .
July 27th
We were HOME for my mom's birthday. . . I am pretty sure that is the FIRST birthday that I have been able to celebrate with my mom since the summer that Bryn and I got married (1999). Crazy. The kids and I made her a cake that turned out pretty darn gross. Not sure what exactly went wrong. But its the thought that counts, right? We celebrated that night w/friends, family & my dad's tri-tip! Hopefully it will not be another 8 years before I get to celebrate my mom's birthday with her again!!!!
July 28th
The birthday festivities continued. My dad cooked us a wonderful breakfast and we had a pretty mellow morning. The kids swam. Bryn and I got to sneak away to a movie mattinee. Later that afternoon we headed down to Carpinteria. This has become a tradition on my mom's birthday. We ate dinner at The Palms restaurant & then headed to the beach to watch the sunset. It was a beautiful night and I was just so thankful to have the opportunity to be there with my family. Here are some pics. . .

Happy Birthday Mama T!!!!!
While we were at the beach, Grandma & Tia had the following conversation. . .
Grandma: "Tia, do you know who made the ocean?
Tia: "JESUS!"
Grandma: "Who made the stars?"
Tia: "Jesus!"
Grandma: "Who made the. . . fish?"
Tia: "Jesus!"
Grandma: "Who made the moon?
Tia (raising her hand): ME!

You're hilarious -- no apologies! I have some things to catch up on on my blog but I keep thinking -- it's been too long -- this is ancient history! You're an encouragement to me to blog about them anyway. :)
I love the pictures!
Happy Thanksgiving -- I'm thankful for you, sweet sister.
