Today is Jamie's 1st birthday. I realize that I never even wrote about him leaving us (to go back to his biological father) on this blog. Maybe because that would make it seem so final, and I haven't wanted, or been ready, to let go of him? Maybe because with everything else going on we just didn't have time to grieve? Or maybe (most likely) it hurt so deeply that I thought by avoiding the subject somehow the pain would go away? Regardless, we miss him. As a way of remembering him on his birthday we decided to release a balloon. One balloon, representing his age. Caelleb picked the color. We know that Jamie will not remember us, as he was only 8 months old when he was reunified with his father. But we will most certainly, NEVER forget him. . ."To Jamie"
As the balloon flew away, Caelleb said, "BYE Balloon. Go to Jamie's house." :)
